About the Program

The CVMA® 45-3 Veterans Assistance Program (VAP) is dedicated to providing financial assistance to veterans and their families who are experiencing hardship. Whether you're facing medical bills, housing challenges, transportation needs, or other emergencies, our committee is here to help.

Founded on the principles of Vets Helping Vets, our program operates through two funding lines to ensure we can support both our CVMA® family members and veterans in the broader community.

Our Mission: To provide timely financial assistance to honorably discharged veterans who are facing financial hardship, ensuring no veteran is left behind.

All applications are carefully reviewed by our committee, and decisions are made based on need, available funds, and program guidelines. We maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and respect for every applicant.

Who Qualifies?

  • Honorably or generally discharged veterans
  • Spouses or dependents may apply on behalf of the veteran
  • Funds must directly benefit the veteran
  • CVMA® members receive priority through our internal line
  • CVMA® members only need to provide proof of hardship
  • Non-CVMA® applicants must provide proof of service (DD214) and documentation of need

  • Housing assistance (rent, mortgage, utilities)
  • Medical expenses (bills, prescriptions, equipment)
  • Transportation needs (vehicle repairs, fuel)
  • Food and basic necessities
  • Emergency assistance

Application Process

  • Complete the online application form
  • Upload required documentation (DD214, ID, bills)
  • Committee reviews your case
  • You'll be notified of the decision via email
  • Approved assistance is paid directly to vendors - we never provide cash
